Quality Control Assurance
Quality Control Assurance: Metal Finishing, Exceed Expectations,
Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2000 Standard, Japanese Industrial Specifications (JIS)
Superior Metal Technologies (SMT), Indianapolis, Indiana, has been in
operation since 1936 specializing in metal finishing services. We strive
to exceed customers' expectations for quality and service in a
dynamic and ever-changing market, which has positioned us to be a leader
in our industry.
SMT is dedicated to offering the highest levels of
quality assurance available in the metal finishing industry. Our

Procedures and work instructions exist to provide a more detailed
description of our Quality Management System. The scope of our quality
management system includes the activities associated with the initial
contact with our customer, through to shipment of our products,
including customer feedback and reaction to such information.
Quality Control: General Requirements
SMT's highly trained management team is responsible for ensuring that our
Quality Management System is properly documented, implemented,
maintained, managed, and continually improved upon as required by the
ISO 9001:2000 Standard.
Our Quality Management System:
- Identifies the processes needed for the Quality
Management System, and their application
- Determines the criteria and methods needed to ensure that
the operation and control of our processes are effective
- Determines the sequence and interaction of these processes
- Ensures the availability of resources and information needed to
support the operation and monitoring of these processes
- Monitors, measures, and analyzes these processes and,
- Assures that action is taken, as needed to achieve planned results
and continual improvement
Quality Control Assurance: Interaction of Processes
It is through our extensive Quality Manual, our procedures, and work instructions
that SMT's Quality Management System satisfies the primary documentation
requirements of the ISO 9001: 2000 standard, as well as those of our
customers.
Furthermore, we are certified to the Japanese Industrial
Specifications (JIS) on behalf of a major Japanese manufacturer to
produce parts for mass transit windows.
