Steve Blackburn
President
Born in Flint Michigan and raised in Toledo Ohio, Steve attended Eastern Michigan University where he studied business management. He moved to Indianapolis in 1995 where he began his career in the metal coating and finishing industry working for Aluminum Finishing Corporation (AFC), predecessor to Superior Metal Technologies.
Throughout his career, Steve has been placed in leadership positions allowing him to focus on his management skills. He's very passionate about helping to manage, improve and grow the Superior Metal Technologies team.
He is an avid car collector, enjoys skiing, golf and tennis and spends most of his time with his wife Karissa and their pets, including two dogs (Cash and Percy Elwood). Steve and Karissa give back to the Indianapolis metropolitan community by investing in the rehabilitation of real estate within Indy's inner city.
Tim Gross
VP Sales
Tim started as a project manager and estimator and has worked at Superior Metal Technologies for over 10 years. His background is in project management, engineering, drafting and computer aided design. Before joining our team, he worked in electromechanical engineering for 8 years at Mallory Controls and in the architectural aluminum industry for over 16 years at Kawneer/Alcoa.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, of 26 years, and their 2 children. He loves music, motorcycling, traveling, is active in automobile restoration and enjoys wood and metal furniture construction.
Terry Owens
Plant Manager
Terry has been with Superior Metal Technologies for over 10 years, he started as a first shift supervisor and quickly moved up to department manager and then to plant manager.
He began working with his father in construction, learning as much as he could about electrical, plumbing and carpentry. He has extensive experience managing teams with a focus on the automotive manufacturing and coating industries. Terry has several certifications including those for lean manufacturing and just in time production. He is continually expanding his knowledge of the industry and is always looking for ways to improve processes within the plant.
Terry has been married for over 21 years and enjoys spending time with his wife and son. In his spare time he watches sports, loves racing, wood working and fishing.
